One of IT Group’s leading experts, Jason Coyne, a software expert and Forensic Practitioner, will be participating in a user panel at the prestigious European Digital Forensics and Incident Response Summit in London on the 9th September. Mr Coyne will join a panel of experts to put forward and discuss success and failure stories of leading tools, services and solutions, which IT Group has experienced over the 10 years of providing expert witness services. The user panel will also make suggestions and put forward advice on preferred tools and technology to best use in an organisation and where to invest budgets efficiently.
Other contributing panel experts include Paul Andrews (QCC Information Security Ltd), Alex Church (Context Information Security Ltd) and Richard Leary (Forensic Pathways).
The SANS Digital Forensics and Incident Response Summit has its European debut in London to discuss the latest trends and hear from industry experts. Top industry leaders, computer forensics and incident response professionals, and vendors will discuss the latest strategies and techniques in a series of highly interactive sessions focused on effective incident response and mitigation strategies, core digital forensic investigative analysis, and criminal prosecution myths, and civil e-Discovery litigation methodologies.

Society for Computers and Law (SCL); Software Copyright: Disclosure is the key – 28th September 2010, London.
Mr Sykes, IT Group’s Managing Director, and Mr Coyne will be participating in one of SCL’s prominent events, aimed to deliver expert opinion and advice on Software Copyright and disputes surrounding the illegitimacy of copying software. The seminar, taking place on the 28th September for both SCL members and non-members, will cover the practical issues of giving disclosure in software copyright disputes, whether stolen from a company and used in its own right or as the basis of a new, competing product. Points that will be discussed and illustrated with real-life case examples include:
- The importance of obtaining a forensically sound image of the media upon which emails, design specifications and software reside or have resided
- Analysis of the unallocated file space, to reveal the missing links in trains of events
- Issues of confidentiality and privilege
- How and when to instruct experts.
The Society for Computers and Law is the leading UK organisation for legal professionals advising and practicing within the IT sector.
